Phil Collins, the legendary drummer and lead singer of Genesis, recently revealed that he can “barely hold a drumstick anymore” due to health issues. Despite his success with both Genesis and his solo career, including hits like “In The Air Tonight,” Collins’ physical challenges have made it difficult for him to play drums. After a 2009 surgery left him with nerve damage and a dislocated vertebra, along with a foot fracture, Collins now struggles to walk and perform.
While he reunited with Genesis in 2017 and planned a world tour, his son, Nicholas, has taken over drumming duties for the band. Collins expressed frustration over his physical limitations, admitting that touring may no longer be something he wants to pursue. His legacy in music remains, but his health has led him to reconsider his future in live performances.
